Laurie is a mixed media artist who creates symbolic, abstract, realism works of art. Her process involves spray paint, ink, ashes, collage, acrylic, oil, and many other forms of mixed media.  Unique to Laurie’s style is her use of ashes in her artwork. Laurie burns with fire symbolic items, letters, and old artwork that she has learned and grown from, then paints with the ashes of the story of her life and journey. 

 Out of the ashes of grief and heartache is beauty. Through the loss of my husband, close friends, and family members I am honored to love and hold dear, I have found beauty in the mystery of my pain. Wrestling with the inner emotions that rage within, is a gentleness of divine wisdom and peace that passes all understanding that has captivated my heart and mind in the innocence and vulnerability of raw beauty.
